Tennis Club Defibrillator
Just so you know, the club is in the process of buying a new defibrillator. One that will be kept unlocked in the clubhouse to provide instant access to all members an hopefully avoiding the delay of running to shared box on the cottage wall and the need to dial 999 for the code to unlock. Those six minutes would be better spend on trying to aid a recovery. It will be installed as soon as we can source the machine and a wall box.
Emergency Contacts
Last month we asked all members to complete their emergency contact details. Thank you to the many have done this quick and easy task. We do however still have a worrying number of members for whom we have no emergency contacts. Whilst all membership categories have shown some improvement there is still many missing.
68% of Adults members are still without emergency contacts and the other categories without are as follows: U14 Juniors 26%; Under 5s 23%; Young adults 14-25 years old 54%; Weekday 60%; and Coaches 92%.
Please all those not done it yet, log into the bookings system to access the Member’s Directory and there use the link to update your contact details with your emergency contacts. Scroll down to Emergency contacts and when filled in, remember to click the Submit button. If you prefer, please email admin@ssltc.co.uk with your nominated name and contact phone.
CPR Training
We emailed everyone on 12th August offering CPR training to club members. Thank you to all that responded. We have those responses safely stored but we still have a few or the 24 spaces left. Last chance to send you name to ssltcsafeguarding@gmail.com. Twenty-four candidates will be selected from those volunteering for a course hopefully in September or October.
And just a quick reminder about the free online British Heart Foundation training, named RevivR, which is a free 15-minute interactive CPR course. Start the RevivR training now by clicking this (overly long) link.
