Saturday / Sunday 12th/13th July weekend - date for the diary

The weekend of 12/13th July is going to be BIG! I'm sure you will all already have the Wimbledon finals in your diaries. But a couple of other items to add. Firstly:

American Tournament July 12th Saturday 12:45pm

Full members of all abilities welcome to apply. This is predominately a SOCIAL event. 7 events with 12 players have previously been run in last few years the last was filled up within 3 hours of announcing.

This event will be for 24 Players across 6 courts playing 5x8=40 sudden death games.
2 simultaneous AT’s each using 3 courts. The organisers will decide who plays in which group based on perceived performance levels.
Each group of 12 will be split into 2 [players 1 & 2] then just before play drawn into pairs.
£1 entrance fee to cover trophies and bottled water. New balls will be provided by club.
Entrants encouraged to bring snacks or drinks to share between each of the 5 rounds (although see food options below), the bar should be open as well.
12:45 pairs draw, 1pm play start, Likely finish around 4:30pm with trophies presented.
Each pair will play the other 5 pairs 8 sudden death games [deciding point if Deuce]. After playing 4 games the player 2’s will then swap so your drawn partner will be against you.
Total 40 games after each round the scores will be games each payer has won [0-8].
Tennis will no doubt be on in the clubhouse so you don't miss out on any of the SW19 action.

Cricket Club Beer and Prosecco Festival Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July

Repeating last year's success the cricket club will be running their festival throughout the weekend with over 50 real ales, Prosecco, a variety of food vans and live music. The tennis club have sponsored a barrel of beer again, so look out for that in the programme. Tokens for drink and food are available at the cricket club on the day. This is a fabulous party atmosphere, a great family event, and always very popular in Stony for meeting friends and neighbours.
