SSLTC Grade 3 Tournament 6th -12th April

Dear [[firstname]] [[lastname]]

We hope you are looking forward to longer daylight hours and more tennis. Spring feels as though it might be just around the corner. Some more important details for you regarding the G3 this Easter.

SSLTC Grade 3 Tournament 6th -12th April

This is a major event returning to SSLTC after a successful 2024. Both regional and national players are expected to be visiting Stony to play in adult and junior events. For the duration of the week, Sunday to Saturday inclusive, all Courts will be for tournament use only between 08:30 and 20:00. Progressively courts will be released in the evening but this will be dependent on progress and the weather. All coaching programmes have been cancelled throughout the week.

We would be delighted if members and their guests came to watch some of the tennis. Catering will be provided from 09:00 to 17:00 with snacks, tea and coffee from the kitchen and drinks from the bar. But we do please need volunteers to operate the kitchen during this week. Thank you to those that have already responded from the clubhouse posters, but we need more. The more we have the easier the shifts. Please get in touch with admin@ssltc.co.uk to help.

Court provision for members

Members can book and use Courts 1 to 9 prior to 08:30, but please be away from your court promptly by 08:30 am. You may also book Courts 1 to 7 after 20:00 pm, and Courts 8&9 after 18:00pm, and if they become available sooner, play without a booking. You will need to be at the club to take advantage and please release the court again by 8pm if there is a booking.

Clearly courts are going to be severely restricted throughout the week. There will be no day time club morning or rollups during the week, but the following block bookings have been made on Courts 8&9 for Members' Club Night.

Sunday 6th April 19:00 to 22:00 and Wednesday 9th April 18:00 to 22:00

In addition, Courts 6 and 7 are booked for Club Night on both nights from 20:00 to 22:00.

Free elite doubles coaching from Active Away

Ther has been an excellent response to the free elite doubles coaching from Active Away on Wednesday 26th March. All the slots for 18:30 to 20:00 have been taken, but there are a few places left on the 20:00 to 21:30 session. Contact john@teamstonytennis.com to secure a place. Perhaps those signed up to this free session might like to volunteer for a kitchen duty during the G3!

Club Championships

The sign up sheets for the 2025 adult club championships will be on the noticeboard before the end of this coming weekend. Enter by 2nd May on the noticeboard or by emailing sandaburn@hotmail.com.

With best wishes,

Your Club Committee
